ConsoleWorks 5.6
- The Resource edit pages in ConsoleWorks have always been static and did not get updated or respond to changes made by other users while the page was open.
- ConsoleWorks has been updated to make Resource edit pages stay up to date with changes made elsewhere or by other users within the system.
- File uploads in ConsoleWorks have always been limited by the maximum memory allocation setting for the ConsoleWorks server which is many times too small or is not safe to extend to a point where large files can be imported.
- ConsoleWorks has been updated to include support for streaming uploads of very large files and allowing drag and drop functionality in the user interface.
- Importing files into ConsoleWorks has always been a single file at a time operation which can be time consuming and inconvenient when dealing with several files.
- ConsoleWorks has been updated to all allow multiple files to be uploaded at the same time when importing Custom Files, IEMs, or Licenses.
- ConsoleWorks Backups had no way to allow a user to add text to describe the purpose or reason for the backup file.
- Backups now have a description field to help customers find the appropriate files faster
- New Custom Field types are available for link fields, color fields, double fields, and
floating point numbers as well as a new singleton type Custom Component.
- This new addition to Custom Data improves ConsoleWorks capability to allow
customers to add customized functionality for their environments.
- With some devices, the SSH authentication mode that is automatically selected by
ConsoleWorks is not supported.
- The advanced connection details for SSH Consoles now includes the ability to
override the SSH Password Authentication method to support some SSH servers that were unable to
authenticate with keyboard-interactive authentication.
- A number of examples included in the example library have been updated.
Examples marked for automatic load will be updated automatically when ConsoleWorks is updated.
Other example updates can be found by going to HELP > Examples.
- SSL certificate management for ConsoleWorks has been inconvenient and not intuitive.
ConsoleWorks has been updated to include the ability to install and manage SSL
certificates from the user interface.
- The version of the WEF packaged with a specific ConsoleWorks release was not
displayed in the product making it difficult for users to know if they need to upgrade the WEFs
installed in their environment.
- The current ConsoleWorks Windows Event Forwarder version can now be found
on the TOOLS: Windows Event Forwarder page.
- When diskspace on the CW server is low and a Resource Monitor event/email is
thrown, it is often difficult to find out what files need to be removed in order to regain sufficient
diskspace.
- Now Emails and events thrown by the CW Resource Monitor for low diskspace. the conditions now contain the size of the CW folders on the disk that are low on space and also contain a list of files that are larger than the setting in Admin->Server Management->Configuration under the CW Resource Monitor section.
